Linda Maarek is a painter trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and at the Joëffrin Byrs fashion design school. She is also a stylist and illustrator fascinated by haute couture. She attends the Chanel, Ungaro, Dior, and Alaïa fashion shows. The two disciplines sometimes intersect; for example, YSL with her Mondrian-inspired dress and also the blue satin jacket with Van Gogh's irises.
Chagall's dreamlike style inspired a sublime wedding dress designed by Dior.
In painting Linda Maarek prefers Marc Chagall, Klimt, Le douanier rousseau and Botticeli.
Before developing a passion for oil painting, she adopted a narrative, naive approach, first drawing on paper and then transferring her creations to canvas where she continued her pictorial exploration. Her works, centered on couples and eternal love, exude a palpable tenderness and tell sensitive stories, inviting viewers to feel the intense emotion that unites the characters she portrays.
