This Whiteout series, which is inspired by the pandemic and quarantine - began as a visual interpretation of the erasing of large parts of our lives. This piece is about time, and how it is no longer a thing during quarantine. Time has become fluid and endless with the disruption of our everyday lives. The tally marks symbolize the counting of the days, the white rabbit has become a clock, everyone spends a lot of time in their pajamas and the world…

Linda Mitchell is a prizewinning American artist with international exposure. Her mixed media paintings and installations are populated by animals- both real and imagined. In these narrative works, the animals often become surrogates for human beings and their emotional lives. The paintings are often highly textured and made with painted and photographic images, fabric, wood, glass, and found objects. They coalesce into intricate and surreal scenes, reflecting life’s emotional complexity.
