About this artwork
Painted during Winter Olympics, I love the ice dancing, how the skaters twirl around the ice effortlessly. Some flying high above the ice. The swooshing green brushstrokes resemble the partners swinging and swirling. The spontaneity of activity in pinks, yellows and orange shapes complement the black and white marks to increase the action. The complementary colors of blue and orange play together like dance partners on ice.

« Abstract artists are driven to express what they feel and interpret what they see and feel into a cohesive and emotive painting. »
Linnea Leeming is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. The central themes inherent in her abstract works are experimentation, innovation, and evolution. Leeming's artistic process is driven by the practice of listening to her unconscious in addition to calculated decisions fueled by issues of color and space, where lines, patterns, and textures overlap and merge into unified compositions.
