About this artwork
Linnea painted this in response to the murder of the lion, Cecil who lived in Zimbabwe. He was killed by a man who paid $54,000 to shoot a lion. The world uproar was huge. Each animal in her painting has a price tag on it's neck.....the actual prices to shoot an animal in Africa.
They are all piled high in a shopping cart. She really advocates for animals. A portion of the sale wlll be donated to Elephant Nature Park or Non-Human Rights… Project.

Her love of nature is apparent in her diverse compositions, as she often portrays both animals and birds. As such, Pergola is an advocate for animal rights and the unjust treatment of animals. Her incredibly detailed pieces are created with pencils, encaustics and oils, watercolors, and ink on paper or fabric.
