About this artwork
This wall sculpture from the 'Roots' series is a visual tribute to an unforgettable experience: the excursion to Huascarán in Peru. The majesty of the mountain, the grandeur of the glacier, the moonlight that illuminated the landscape, are indelible memories that I wanted to translate into shapes and colors. Wood, with its grain and textures, becomes the raw material to tell the story of this magical place. The wooden parts assembled and painted… in dark brown evoke the rock and the earth, while the light parts with their brightness symbolize the purity of the glacier and the moon. I hope to have conveyed, through this composition, the emotion I felt in front of such beauty. The work is treated to resist humidity ready to hang.
Lino Spada is a self-taught artist who expresses his passion for art through painting, drawing, and sculpture. He uses innovative techniques such as wood collage to create sculpture-paintings where shapes and colors highlight the lines. He has a A unique way of combining painting, collage, and sculpture to create dynamic and expressive pieces! The works in the RITMI series are a prime example: a translation of sound into shapes and colors! The sculptures, on the other hand, are inspired by late-nineteenth-century Italian peasant culture and the ancient symbols of the Samnites. These essential works evoke a delicate relationship between man and nature, awakening a subtle emotionality and an intimate, dreamlike dimension. He uses traditional materials such as wood, iron, and stone, often recycled and treated to restore their original value.
