About this artwork
Copper Ground is an abstract work about grounding, stability, and consciously staying in the moment.
On canvas, acrylic paint, textured layers, and copper leaf combine to create a surface of palpable weight and tranquility. The copper acts as a supporting element: warm, physical, and unifying. It anchors the image in the material realm and gives the composition stability.
The grey areas create space, a sense of retreat, and depth. Fine, light… lines traverse the surface like subtle movements. They speak of processes that unfold slowly and are allowed to settle.
The artwork invites the viewer to arrive. It demands no interpretation, but rather presence. Depending on the light, its texture and sheen change, while the grounding effect of the material remains.

I paint to reveal what lies beneath the surface. I find my inspiration in moments of stillness, in natural structures, in the play of light and movement, but also in inner processes that cannot be expressed in words. For me, art is a translation of feelings into form and color.
Structure plays a special role here: It gives my paintings depth and stability, just as stability is necessary in life for new things to emerge. Using sand, marble dust, or texture paste, I create surfaces that become tangible. They invite us to experience them not only with our eyes, but also internally.
I love it because painting means freedom to me. It's the place where I can let go, where chaos and clarity, wildness and calm can meet. My motivation lies in capturing this tension and opening up spaces where viewers can rediscover their own sensibilities.
