About this artwork
In this painting, I've embraced the raw emotion and tumultuous energy of self-reflection. The swirling blend of deep blues, stark whites, and earthy tones represents the inner conflict and complexity of turning one’s back on former realities to face new truths. The abstract form allows every viewer to find their own meaning, bringing a powerful, introspective energy to any space. This piece is about transformation, resilience, and the courage to… embrace change.
American fine art painter Lisa Lockett lives and works in St. Louis, Missouri, creating emotionally driven paintings marked by movement, atmosphere, and luminous depth. Her artistic path began at age five and developed through years of study, experimentation, and professional experience across both design and fine art. She earned a Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising and Design from the University of Missouri–Columbia, an education that strengthened her visual language and sense of composition. After owning and operating a design firm, Lockett transitioned fully into fine art, bringing a balance of discipline and intuition to her practice. Working primarily in oil, she builds layered textures, bold contrasts, and dynamic light to explore abstraction, emotion, and transformation. Her work invites reflection and personal interpretation. Lockett has exhibited internationally and received multiple honors.
