About this artwork
As the artist, I poured my fascination with the raw energy and wild spirit of nature into this oil painting. Inspired by expressionism, I captured the vigorous movement and formidable grace of a horse in motion. The bold contrast and flowing lines communicate a sense of unstoppable force and beauty, setting free a wave of emotional intensity. This piece will undoubtedly bring a dynamic and inspiring atmosphere to any space, invigorating its surroundings… with life and spirit.
American fine art painter Lisa Lockett lives and works in St. Louis, Missouri, creating emotionally driven paintings marked by movement, atmosphere, and luminous depth. Her artistic path began at age five and developed through years of study, experimentation, and professional experience across both design and fine art. She earned a Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising and Design from the University of Missouri–Columbia, an education that strengthened her visual language and sense of composition. After owning and operating a design firm, Lockett transitioned fully into fine art, bringing a balance of discipline and intuition to her practice. Working primarily in oil, she builds layered textures, bold contrasts, and dynamic light to explore abstraction, emotion, and transformation. Her work invites reflection and personal interpretation. Lockett has exhibited internationally and received multiple honors.
