About this artwork
This artwork was initially inspired by some graffiti I saw in Venice, Italy. About 1/2 way into painting this piece, the word Go appeared. Perhaps it was my subconscious urging me to work harder, or maybe it was my wanderlust on overload while we all remain stuck at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. The word Go eventually disappeared, and this became more about the interaction of simple whimsical shapes. It reminds me of Miró, and so the last…
thing I did on this painting as a tribute to him was to put the star shape in the lower left corner. I kept the word Go! as the title of this painting though, because traveling gives me more inspiration than anything else I do, and I can't wait to get back on the road!
