This series explores my childhood growing up in a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada in the 70s - a simpler time before the age of constant connectivity to the internet, cell phones and arranged playdates. The innocence of make believe, going out to play until the streetlights came on and the hours of fun creating something from a cardboard box - snippets of memories I… think back to fondly.

Lisa Roy is a Canadian artist whose paintings have been exhibited both nationally and in the United States. She describes each of her works as being an "intuitive experiment in layers of color, shape, and texture". Roy draws inspiration from nature, her immediate surroundings, and her memories. Her compositions are marked by chaos as each piece evolves until a visual order emerges. She creates using acrylics and colored pencils on canvas.
