About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture a moment of inner contemplation. I depicted a male figure, his head slightly tilted back, his eyes closed, as if suspended in a state of absolute serenity. Raphael also makes me think of the Quatro Cento and the magnificent paintings of that period. The warm tones of brown and gold blend with the bursts of golden leaves that illuminate the background and bring an almost sacred depth to the scene. The light emphasizes… the lines of the neck and shoulders, both taut and soft, giving the whole an athletic and mythological presence. I like to play on this tension between strength and calm, between classical heritage and contemporary perspective. My intention is to offer the viewer a moment of introspection, an invitation to enter a space that corresponds to an era that each person chooses according to their experience.
« [I seek to] be free while accessing vulnerability, to call the viewer to that which is intangible. »
