About this artwork

These people began to appear in my workshop a few years ago. I did not understand how to depict them, with what artistic means, so that they seemed fantastic and at the same time created the effect of presence. As a result of numerous experiments, this technique was born. This picture is in relief, you can touch the shoulder of each of them. They are people of a new generation, awakened people, conscious. Someday we, having gone through this transformation,… will gain complete freedom.

The painting from the "transformation" collection, which will be presented at the artist's personal exhibition. Textural, author's technique "washed stone" in figurative painting by Sas L. conveys a special atmosphere and makes the viewer wonder who these people are in the portraits. The painting has a wooden frame. Framed painting size: 57/67cm.

Liubou Sas is a prize-winning artist based in Belarus whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Her disctinctive landscapes ,abstractions and portraits are created in a particular style which is influenced by both expressionism and impressionism. What interests Sas most in her artistic process is the "person as an image" and the translation of their spirit onto canvas. She most often creates using acrylics and oils.
