About this artwork
This artwork illustrates a bustling Parisian street scene, capturing the essence of urban life in the late 19th or early 20th century. The broad, tree-lined boulevard stretches into the distance, flanked by rows of intricate, uniform buildings with steep roofs. The foreground is animated by the presence of horse-drawn carriages, pedestrians, and street vendors, highlighting the city's vibrant activity. The Impressionist style is evident in the loose… brushwork and soft blending of colors, evoking a sense of movement and atmosphere. The painting's unique perspective, possibly from an elevated vantage point, offers a sweeping view of the street, drawing the viewer into the scene. The use of light and shadow artfully mimics the changing sky, adding depth and dynamism. Overall, the piece is a masterful depiction of a lively, historic cityscape, reflecting both the elegance and the energy of the era.
« In my works, I try to portray not a human face or body, but a soul. »
