About this artwork
"Direction 1" is part of my Isolines series, inspired by the contour lines of maps that trace change across space. In this work, the form unfolds through layered, fluid marks, creating an abstract topography where movement and stillness meet. Each line becomes both a path and a pause — a record of searching, balance, and emotion — shaping a quiet landscape that reflects the rhythms of inner observation.

Liudmyla Davydenko, a Ukrainian painter and sculptor, masterfully blends oil on canvas and chamotte clay with a rich foundation in ceramics and fine arts. She crafts associative abstract works using rhythmic layering, textured lines, and an intuitive, meditative process that bridges painting and sculpture. Her art evokes a sense of quiet reflection, intimate presence, and the fragile, interconnected beauty of life’s invisible threads, inviting viewers into deeply personal and contemplative spaces.
