About this artwork
Technique: Oil on linen 70 x 125 cm, painted with painting knifes and brushes. Painted in 2022.
In the work with the painting, Solberg Andersen took inspiration from the sea and the mountains. Both will be cheered on and she is happy to do so, but the cold mountain range dominate here. The mountain landscape is seasons with skiing, mullets and blueberries in buckets. Hidden heather cries, tears of comfort for winter, the time of tucked away memories.

« To me, the act of painting, the movement, and the articulation of the body, is a way to exist. »
Liv Solberg Andersen is an award-winning artist based in Norway whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in Spain. During her studies in traditional art, she became fascinated by the concept of phenomenology and perception. Inspired by Maurice Merleau-Ponty's letter to Paul Cézanne about doubt, she tries to put aside any assumptions or prejudices about what painting should be. Andersen's figurative works and landscapes are primarily created using oils on canvas.
