About this artwork
Three violets on a rough background. They are among the most delicate flowers. They are also one of the first harbingers of spring. Their scent is enchanting, as is their appearance. I can't imagine a more beautiful gift than a bouquet of violets. Mozart composed a piece about the delicate blossom, interweaving its fate with a sad love story.
Here, however, I've depicted the flower in rich colors and with high contrast. This diminishes its delicacy… somewhat. Rather, it's a symbol of the resurgent life that springs every year. Strong and powerful, it defies winter and blooms to usher in the fertile season. In doing so, the violet offers us not only renewed life but also beauty. Signed and numbered.

She also works as an oncologist and surgeon. This means she sees a wide variety of fates every day, which has a strong influence on her work. The fact that she also works with her hands and surgery is reflected in her work, especially in her joy in aesthetics. Livia's life was shaped by early loss, and although her pictures always radiate a certain melancholy, she is always looking for beauty and cheerfulness. And she finds this in her pictures by depicting things and situations that are interesting to her. This is often the extraordinary, but also the everyday and the original. She is always asking what connects us as people. The works are extremely expressive.
