About this artwork
This image brings together some dramatic psycological themes. Dreams , spirituality and fear ,with the nurturing feminine qualities of textile and stitch . I drew inspiration from 15th Century engravings of Saints and Victorian Gothic Fiction. Its also inspired by the peeling posters of London's bill boards.

Liz Neal is a painter and textile artist based in the United Kingdom whose pieces have been nationally exhibited, as well as in Russia, and Brazil. She draws on dreams, literature, and memories to create surrealistic and impressionistic images. Blending found and reappropriated images with her own photographs, Neal produces new painterly landscapes. She works intuitively, saying that the painting will, in time, reveal something hidden within her subconscious mind.
