About this artwork
I have captured a mixture of deep and raw emotions in my work, using oil and tar to create an expressionist figure that speaks directly to the soul. There is an intensity in the gaze that captures, eyes that convey a message that needs no words, while the contrasting texture brings a tangible dimension to human experiences. This piece will radiate passion and introspection, filling any space with its unique and soulful energy.

« Art is not food for the fiscal body. It is a food for the sensitivity and the intellect. »
Spanish painter Lluis Clar has shown work in solo and group exhibitions across Europe. Working on canvas or wood, Clar applies oil paints mixed with newspaper to give it an aged look. Interested in exploring human beings, Clar works to make abstract and specific images to represent the totality of his subjects' existence through a single image. Clar's portraiture features penetrating gazes, exquisite textural details and displays both depth and intensity.
