About this artwork
each image is a segment of a larger series that explores found elements of the
domestic space while incorporating the self. These fabric gardens live in a suburban
home’s basement–once used as the material a mother made dresses out of for her
daughter, now collect dust. Fragments of skin, that of a young-women no longer a
little girl, are exposed through the floral pattern, while the fabric covers most of her
figure, acting as an allegory for revealing… and concealing of which exists within the
suburban sphere.
