that it is possible to infer the shape of a non-living species from the structure and intensity of affects. While naturalistic scientific research concerns the evolutionary relationships between living things, Lorene Abfayer focuses her efforts on drawing the “great tree of non-life”.

Lorene Abfayer is a painter and draftsman based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Spain and the United Kingdom. Her pieces are imbued with reflections and the questioning of gender, inviting the contemplation of identity and the way in which we present it. As a protean artist, Abfayer's artistic practice is marked by the need for exploration and research. She most often creates using ink, colored pencils, watercolors, and dry pastels on paper.
