About this artwork
Photo taken during a flight in an old-fashioned plane, above the pre-Inca drawings of Nazca in Peru.
For me, film photography is a form of resistance. In our world where everything is constantly accelerating, where the present moment is perpetually swallowed up by an ever-increasing flood of information, without it being truly understood, appreciated, analyzed, or explained. It's simply a constant stream that lobotomizes us, that extracts us from… ourselves, from the present. We are there without truly being there anymore. Our senses are no longer awake.
Photographed with film, this teaches patience and true contemplation. You have a small number of shots (I use 35-exposure strips).
This contrasts with the digital world of instant gratification. I am deeply convinced that there is an added artistic soul to it.
In this area, I draw quite a bit of inspiration from the French photographer, Robert Doisneau.
Louis Delattre, a draftsman and photographer, comes from an unexpected background combining agronomy and accounting, enriched by a family passion for art. He favors raw or refined techniques, striving for directness in creations marked by authenticity. His style explores naturalness, melancholy, dreamlike qualities, and passion, inviting viewers to experience the mystery of inner alchemy. Louis's works awaken a profound resonance in the viewer, a sincere and universal emotion, like a subtle imprint left on the heart.
