About this artwork
.” Interested in how images take shape and evolve as he allows the ink and the paint to flow and spill and move and mix and coagulate and gel, Boyers does not begin with or impose representations, instead allowing them to emerge from the events of the process. “In the landscape of my paintings there is no distinction between the inside and outside of perception. The painting is like a piece of music, just a texture to elicit reflection, swirls and…
diaphanous pours of paint, veils of inner and outer textures of the current moment. The poured paint is ground, waves, skylike expanses, circulatory systems, bodily fluid, and at the same time images seem to appear and disappear in the paint as water turns into fire, heart into head, head into landscape, landscape into breath, lung tissue into wind. Everything is constantly changing. I try to use paint and painting to examine that phenomena.”

« "Making visible that which is invisible is interesting to me. I use painted marks like musical notes on a page to orchestrate some experience that the viewer can see in themselves." »
Lowell Boyers is an American painter who has extensively exhibited in both solo and group events throughout the United States and Germany. Within his works, he seeks to portray the ‘countless textures of the world of perception’. Through liberating and colorful imagery, Boyers’ ‘innerscapes’ reveal the blooming landscapes of the heart and mind. When creating, he employs the pouring technique with multiple layers of color using acrylics, resin and ink, then adds finer details and imagery.
