About this artwork
In this work, I explore the contrast between the visible surface of the ocean and its hidden depths. The ship above represents human presence and control, while the bathyscaphe below symbolizes exploration, curiosity, and the unknown.
Through horizontal layers of color, I create a sense of depth and calm progression from light to darkness. The transition from the bright surface to the deep blue and black tones reflects both physical depth and emotional… distance.
This painting is part of my exploration of minimalist seascapes, where simple forms and restrained composition allow the viewer to reflect on scale, silence, and the relationship between humans and the vastness of the ocean.
