About this artwork
Burning Sea is a 2025 painting measuring 120 x 180 cm, created with enamel over acrylic on canvas. In this work I immersed myself in a state of pure gesture, allowing splashes of fiery reds, glowing yellows, earthy browns, and soft blues to collide in a dynamic field of movement. The layered drips and fluid lines suggest strange aquatic forms rising through a sea of molten light—an inner ocean where energy, chaos, and transformation coexist.
This… painting belongs to my ongoing series Weird Fishes, which explores the tension between abstraction and figuration, and the way subconscious emotions surface like elusive marine creatures. Burning Sea reflects my fascination with the ocean as both a physical and symbolic space—a place of freedom, metamorphosis, and mystery.
