About this artwork
Published in the CATALOG OF MODERN ART n. 59 of 2024
In the creation of this work I let myself be guided by instinct and memory, mixing materials such as acrylic, plaster, cement and tar to explore the depth of the soul through abstract shapes and symbols. Experimenting with light and darkness, I tried to represent an emotional landscape, but also a Tuscan landscape of those that have accompanied my entire life.
The cypress trees that stand out… in the dark, like night guardians.
They create a barrier that protects you from the outside world, which gives you peace of mind and invites introspection. Every touch on the canvas is a step towards self-understanding, an invitation to perceive the deep emotions that pulsate beneath the surface of our existence. This work transmits a strength and energy that will certainly infuse character and emotion into the environment that will host it.

Luana Baldi, a native of Tuscany, mixes cement, plaster and glue to create contemporary and abstract canvases full of materiality. His style oscillates between the opacity of acrylic and the shine of tar, creating bold contrasts. His works are a chromatic journey into emotional depth, from the intense black of the night to the boundless blue of the sea.
