About this artwork
I used acrylics, sanguine and pigments to bring this work to life, an intense fusion of refined art. The intertwining of shadows and lights captures an eternal beauty, evoking deep feelings. This is the transposition onto paper of an ancient terracotta work found in the Marta museum,
ARcheological Museum of TAranato.
Hence the name Marta.
I really like to bring ancient statues of marble or terracotta, or even bronze, onto canvas, but transporting… them to a place where the wounds caused by time seem to keep them in the blackness of oblivion.
Every trait contains passion; this canvas will become an emotional centerpiece in your home, releasing energy and sparking deep conversations.
Luana Baldi, a native of Tuscany, mixes cement, plaster and glue to create contemporary and abstract canvases full of materiality. His style oscillates between the opacity of acrylic and the shine of tar, creating bold contrasts. His works are a chromatic journey into emotional depth, from the intense black of the night to the boundless blue of the sea.
