About this artwork
I infused every emotion into the art I created, mixing materials like acrylic and plaster with the strength of concrete, natural pigments and the depth of tar and plaster. In this semi-abstract work, I explored duality and transition between elements, resulting in immersive textures that evoke reflection and contemplation. It is a very large canvas, played in shades of black, matt and shiny, and earthy colours.
In my intentions it represents dangerous,… dark, black and dark obstacles to overcome to get to where a glow can be glimpsed.
Will it be the light of a dawn, a radiant future, or a terrifying, destructive explosion?
We don't know, but when in doubt, I don't (know) how to sit still and wait for everything to be clear....and I set off.
By bringing this energy into your home, I invite you to meditate on opposing forces and their dynamic balance.

Luana Baldi, a native of Tuscany, mixes cement, plaster and glue to create contemporary and abstract canvases full of materiality. His style oscillates between the opacity of acrylic and the shine of tar, creating bold contrasts. His works are a chromatic journey into emotional depth, from the intense black of the night to the boundless blue of the sea.
