The dark layers cover the gold shimmer beneath its surface, ready to burst out and be free at any moment, revealing truth and honesty. This piece was made in a dark place in my life, where my mother fell ill but there was a fire within me to keep going. Battling emotions of pain and struggle, this paintings helped release what we all have in us, love and freedom.
