About this artwork
This canvas with saturated hues radiates with its intensity. Like molten lava, the light flows through the center of the painting to spread out onto the shore. I used pure colors straight from the tube to maintain their maximum brightness, applied with a brush for the blends and with a knife for the thicker parts, with a mix of the two techniques for the transition zones. The deep and luminous yellow contrasts with the touches of dark colors, generating…
a strong color contrast. The luminous contrast is played between the white and the Van Dyck Brown concentrated on the central part. The absence of perspective projects all parts of the painting onto a single, almost frontal plane.

Luc Andrieux is an artist based in France whose works have been presented in several solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. For him, painting is like a vital necessity. Through his compositions, Andrieux's goal is to generate a questioning contemplation, to freeze time and to induce an atmosphere suggested by the hidden face of the elements. His abstractions, landscapes and figurative works are most often created using acrylics on canvas, oil being reserved for the treatment of more complex effects. Luc Andrieux does not limit himself to a particular style or theme that would limit his expression but chooses those that are most in line with his vision of the moment.
