About this artwork
This work is the second in the "Monuments" series. The flower head has become so heavy for her, the sunflower is slowly collapsing, the yellow of the first picture has turned red, like a last breath of her life. The seeds are all scattered and she has fulfilled all that she had to fulfill. The flower cover leans towards the earth, and the plant will soon begin a new existence.

« There is no end to my work, but I always have to keep an eye on my end before I pass it on. »
Lucas Nagel is a painter and sculptor based in Sweden whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Germany. Through his art, Nagel explores concepts relating to the line as the absolute trace that we leave behind. He also investigates the difficulty, or rather, the courage, to leave "traces" in his art. The fascination for the unlimited variety of nature, especially its forms, has accompanied him since the beginning of my artistic work.
