About this artwork
Pinecone is, as the title suggests, a pin that was collected on a trip. During the time when this little natural object was lying on the work table, the cone opened as if it was still drugged with life. Even if we really think the lignified, dead object is dead, it is alive and strives for further life. The seeds "sleeping" in the cone detach themselves and look for a new future. The main theme in this work is associated with the explosive force…
in nature.

« There is no end to my work, but I always have to keep an eye on my end before I pass it on. »
Lucas Nagel is a painter and sculptor based in Sweden whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Germany. Through his art, Nagel explores concepts relating to the line as the absolute trace that we leave behind. He also investigates the difficulty, or rather, the courage, to leave "traces" in his art. The fascination for the unlimited variety of nature, especially its forms, has accompanied him since the beginning of my artistic work.
