About this artwork
This image was created during my research for the book National Parks of Latin America.
During this process, I became interested in observing nature not as landscape, but as structure — as a living system shaped by time, humidity, adaptation, and survival.
The leaf fills the frame almost like a body. Its veins resemble rivers, maps, or invisible networks moving through the forest.
Much of my photographic work emerges from long periods of observation… in the Atlantic Forest and protected areas across Latin America. I am interested in the moment when photography stops documenting a plant and begins revealing a deeper architecture of life.

This work speaks about silence, attention, and the intelligence that exists within natural forms.
