About this artwork
The picture shows the possible optimization of the inflow into a drum rotor. A drum rotor is a typical exhaust fan in cooker hoods.

But it's nicer to see it pictorially.....…
The pilot knows that it can make a difference whether you are flying with or against the direction of rotation in an updraft....
