Iconographically, the "Guardian series" is based on holy figures and also on the 14 Holy Helpers who are supposed to help against danger of death.
The guardian of greed shows the Staffelstein between Bamberg and Coburg near the Banz Monastery with 14 saints = 14 Holy Helpers. For friends of modern… iconigraphy, the picture shows modified dojis or candlestick chart elements, in which the prisoners of their greed are washed up and down with the bull markets and bear markets...
