About this artwork
Since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, I have been observing nature and everyday life very closely through my still life drawings (see Corona Chronicles and Il Foglio series). By bringing my artistic practice to Mexico with my artist's fellowship, my new series, "Oaxaca Drawings" captures the color and spirit of life here, including vibrant botanicals and pre-Hispanic reds.

Luisa Adelfio is an award-winning painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in the United States whose works have been featured in solo exhibitions in Colombia, Chile, Peru, Italy, and England. She describes her art as relating to memory, personal, collective, and universal. Adelfio believes that as humans, we are united by our collective experiences as well as the experiences of those that lived before us.
