Luke Hey is an accomplished Australian painter, trained at the University of Newcastle and Newcastle Art College, who has been creating professionally since 2003. His technique is a fusion of thick, impressionistic colors and the calculated structure of cubism, drawing on time-honored oil painting traditions. With compositions inspired by city life, nature, and vibrant cultural scenes, his work strives to evoke both dazzling harmony and a sense of mystery, inviting viewers to discover hidden layers over time.
Once I finished art school and university I hit the ground running, being introduced and accepted into a commercial gallery and beginning a career of travels and exhibiting. Like many Australian artists I decided to live and work in Europe and am currently based in Prague, Czech Republic.
