About this artwork
This painting is based on the abduction of Europa myth. I've always been intrigued by this story, a story of love but also about leaving everything else behind for it. At least, that's what I was painting: not Zeus carrying the girl away just because he wanted to, but Europa voluntarily going with him, leaving her whole life behind for the sake of love.
