About this artwork
The “corrosive” ACRID:
My intention was to make the violet and bluish shadows in the heart of the flower appear like chemical discoloration or a caustic secretion oozing from the plant's interior. The contrast between the cool violet and the hot orange reinforces the impression of a chemical reaction.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Lydia Thomas works primarily with painting and graphic art, influenced by her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. Her technique combines technical virtuosity with spontaneous drawing, deliberately creating a sense of blur within a contemporary visual language. Thomas imbues everyday objects with symbolic meaning, atmospherically blurring the lines between reality and the paranormal. Her works captivate by creating a disquieting, mysterious mood and revealing deeply hidden truths beneath the surface.
