About this artwork
In this painting, I explored the interplay of texture and form through layers of acrylic and collage elements. I aimed to capture the dynamism of natural landscapes, abstracting them into an emotional experience rather than a literal depiction. Each stroke and fragment represents a moment of reflection on the power and beauty of our environment, urging viewers to feel a connection to the sky and a sense of responsibility towards nature.
"Big Sky",… was created during a relatively long period of ups and downs in the painting process. In the beginning, it was a mountain scene. Not bad but not very exciting either. I left it and went forward painting other works, but finally returned to give it another go. With nothing to lose, I turned it upside down and made bold moves to subtract much of the underpainting and conquer the dreaded and safe boring factor. I was so excited when I realized the successful transition! I'm happy to share it with you now!
