About this artwork
This miniature originated as a compositional study for a larger painting that captures the emotional connection between a woman and a child, when viewed beyond color, shape, and line. Creating this miniature first allowed me to explore and refine my ideas regarding the palette, structure, and emotional tone. Although it served as a study for a larger work, it ultimately evolved into a complete expression.
Lynne Meneses is a contemporary painter whose work occupies the intersection of geometric abstraction and abstract expressionism. Her layered compositions are distinguished by bold color contrasts, dynamic structure, and sophisticated spatial complexity — paintings that reward sustained engagement and speak to viewers with a developed visual sensibility.
Meneses contributes to current conversations in contemporary painting through a distinctive voice that draws on the discipline of geometric tradition while embracing the emotional directness of abstraction. Her work has consistently appealed to collectors, curators, and institutions invested in painting, carrying both intellectual rigor and aesthetic impact.
She is actively expanding her exhibition presence and pursuing gallery representation in alignment with the intellectual and aesthetic ambitions of her practice.
