About this artwork
Here you see an early painting of mine, titled M45-067. As with all my paintings, I want to leave you free to interpret them as you wish and not influence you with a title. This painting clearly illustrates what I mean when I say that I immerse myself in my work while creating it. The layers, structures, and contrast of colors in the painting invite me, even upon revisiting it, to delve deeper and explore. And there is always something new to discover.
Martin Sobottka is a self-taught artist who favors a diverse range of materials: paints, varnishes, natural materials, and experimental techniques. His art is abstract and experimental; his works often emerge through interaction with the elements, resulting in unique textures. He values the distinctiveness of each piece and deliberately avoids titles, allowing viewers space for their own interpretations. His works reflect both the joy of life and personal struggles, conveying hope, depth, and an invitation to discover one's own moments of happiness within the imagery.
