Magda Lates is a photographer and visual artist living between Paris and the South of France. She draws her inspiration and creative energy from auteur cinema and brutalist architecture, blending different creative mediums to create works that combine photography and graphic design.
Her childhood in the 1980s, during a turbulent and difficult period in Eastern European history, profoundly shaped her artistic expression. She focuses on storytelling, creating images that arouse curiosity and invite the viewer to imagine alternative narratives, all with a touch of humor.
With a background in computer science and several years of artistic creation as an art director, she moved to France in the early 2000s to pursue her career as an author-photographer. Since then, her work has been published in the French and international press, included in private collections, and exhibited in art galleries in several European countries as well as the United States.
