About this artwork
There are a lot of examples of dreams, longings and desires related to the will of humans to fly. Just looking at the sky and admiring the flight of an eagle, gliding with ease in open spaces, is enough to make our imagination accompany it, picturing how it would be to be up there, under its wings. The flight is always represented as an unfulfilled desire. The human figure grabs and ties the bird to emulate with it the eternal dream of spreading…

Magdalena F. Merino is a Spanish sculptor whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, Italy, France, and the United States. Through her works, she wants to capture man's internal struggle, his passions and contradictions, offering a vision where serenity does not always win. Using the traditional wax casting method, Merino's captivating pieces are composed of stone, wood, and bronze.
