About this artwork
Liminal stems from my interest in those transitional spaces that belong neither entirely to one place nor another. I am drawn to those moments when the light shifts, the landscape transforms, and perception ceases to be a certainty, becoming instead an experience.
In this work, I applied successive layers of natural pigments, mica, acrylic, glazes, and textures to a linen canvas, allowing each layer to interact with the previous one. The blue tones,… earth tones, and small accents of color evoke calm, the passage of time, and the imprint of nature on the material.
I don't seek to depict a specific landscape, but rather to create a space open to contemplation, where each person can find their own emotional connection. For me, Liminal is an invitation to pause and inhabit that subtle threshold between memory, light, and silence.
