About this artwork
Oil painting on canvas, size 110x90cm.
A minimalist painting with a dominant range of autumn tones - brown, khaki, graphite and white. It will ideally fit into contemporary interiors with additions of grey or wood elements. At first glance, the painting brings to mind an abstract landscape, for me it is a play of colours, planes and lines that sometimes disappear, other times set a boundary. Abstract paintings release in the viewer an unrestricted… freedom of interpretation, as well as a multitude of impressions.
Maja Gajewska is a Polish artist who has exhibited her paintings in Switzerland, France, and Poland. Rejecting figurativeness for internal structure, her compositions are characterized by her minimalist approach. Gajewska continuously searches for new forms, lines, and connections between colors. Creating in various mediums, which include spatial installations, illustrations, and graphics, she paints using oils on canvas.
