LONGING FOR VAST OPENINGS AND THE SEA
A sea creature is interpreted and transformed into a Töss snail. I created this sea snail in the Töss Valley (Switzerland) out of a longing for vastness and the sea. I often spend time on the banks of the Töss River, listening to the flowing water. It's practically a connection to the sea... the water of the Töss flows into the Rhine and ultimately into the sea. This river area is also a personal favorite for… taking photographs against this inspiring natural backdrop.
This artwork, crafted from galvanized iron wire, brings the tranquility and permanence of nature to your indoor and outdoor spaces. It embodies the elegance of a seashell, solid yet delicate, and draws the eye with its strong presence and organic form. With this sculpture, I wanted to create a moment of contemplation, symbolizing natural beauty and strength, and infusing your garden with a calm, powerful energy.

Maja Hochuli is a trained florist who creates delicate wire sculptures for the home and garden. She has mastered a self-developed weaving technique using galvanized iron wire, inspired by the forms and structures of nature, where symmetry and geometry play a central role. Her artworks capture the fragility and, at the same time, the enduring strength of nature, lending a poetic lightness to any space through subtle plays of light and shadow.
