Painted on cotton canvas hand-stretched by the artist on a wooden frame made from locally sourced wood. The canvas is sized with home-made glue… and primed with specially prepared gesso. The painting is signed on the front (monogram signature) and on the back (full name, date, title, signature)*. It is fitted with hooks and wire at the back for hanging.
* All photos are taken prior to signing the work. Photographs of signed painting available upon request.

Malwina Chabocka is a Polish artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in Portugal and the United Kingdom. Her works explore the inner conflict of emotions, hidden desires, repressed feelings, haunting memories, as well as pain and longing. Chabocka is also drawn to the intersection of the rational mind with our most primary instincts, which she believes we unsuccessfully try to curb. Evoking contrasts and tension, she often juxtaposes flat areas of carefully applied color with loose brushstrokes and bold contours.
