About this artwork
Portrait of Eva Kasudluak from the village of Inukjuak, Nunavik. Mance Lanctôt met Eva during an artist residency. While posing for a portrait, Eva donned of herself a traditional costume sewn with symbols of men's knives (long) and a women's knife (triangular). She stood proud and dignified, in the sun and the strong wind. Aluminum foil applied on mordant was added and black pigments evoking the moss on the micasse rocks.
