About this artwork
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Nevada, on a deserted road, I discovered this "lost place". It tells of times gone by and memories. You have to imagine a silent stillness in the blazing heat, where the relics wait, perhaps for the artist who will breathe new meaning into them...
Thin acrylic paints on a 1 cm thick, carefully prepared Plexiglas plate give the paint a glassy transparency, as the light is reflected back in the acrylic glass plate,… an effect that cannot be achieved with paint on canvas. However, this is not reverse glass painting, the picture must hang on the wall as normal!
Painted in the style of realism, it combines landscape with urban relics, vintage objects become a metaphysical vanitas still life in front of a large backdrop.
