This work is inspired by the men of today, those who make our earth no longer turn round. It reveals the absurdity of modern man who constantly pulls, pulls on the reserves of the Earth, pulls the rope, pulls without even realizing the exhaustion of resources. Why ? For nothing he will end up falling, all will end up falling.
Modern masculinity is no longer the worker who seeks to feed and protect his family. Modern masculinity wants more power.… It is a permanent show of strength. No more solidarity and no more benevolence. Everyone thinks only of themselves.
Modern masculinity in my country is the rise of extremes and intolerance. I am ashamed. What nonsense.
The figures are in bronze, the base in Corten steel.
« An artist in search of what touches, of the right movement, of the life in the material, carried by my impulses, and free to create without constraint. »
Nathalie Olivier is a sculptor based in France whose works have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. Her pieces are imbued with themes relating to women, childhood, and love in general, which she believes is the meaning of existence. In her artistic process, Olivier exclusively sculpts in wax, her distinctive compositions are then cast in bronze.
